If you look at sea areas far from the North Sea and Baltic Sea, you will almost always find a task force supply ship somewhere. The Bonn can also look back on an eventful operating period with many trips abroad.

On 11 December 2020, frigate captain Eike Deußen took command of the youngest ship in class 702, the Bonn, to begin preparations for completing the operational training programme immediately afterwards. The tasks and absences have already been written into the ship's calendar. And during this operational period, the tasks were quite demanding. It started with participation in Eunavfor Med Irini in September 2021 under coronavirus conditions. In May 2022, the ship again travelled to the Mediterranean, this time for a five-month participation in Standing NATO Maritime Group 2.
