German Navy with a full programme here too. From 11-13 August 2023, the gates at the Warnemünde naval base will open again for the Hanse Sail. The German Navy will be attracting visitors with a special highlight: the training sailing ship "Gorch Fock" will be there.
But it will also be interesting internationally: on the one hand, the Indonesian Navy is visiting Warnemünde with its sail training ship "Bima Suci". On the other hand, NATO's Standing Mine Countermeasures Unit 1 and the Danish home defence cutters "Lyra" and "Aldebaran" will also be guests. In addition, the corvette "Ludwigshafen am Rhein" and the hollow-barrelled guided missile boat "Pegnitz" will be on public display.
Visitors can look forward to a varied programme: Creative "figure welding" with the Liebherr company, sitting behind the wheel of a lorry yourself and experiencing large land-based green vehicles up close, such as the Leopard 2 A6, a Puma, the Fennek and the Fuchs. Action is also expected from the air: a "Sea King" from the Naval Air Wing 5 from Nordholz will demonstrate a simulated sea rescue in the harbour basin of the base. The helmet divers will also be demonstrating their skills. Four field kitchens will cook for visitors and the Hanover Army Music Corps will provide the musical backdrop. The family care centre will be looking after the "maritime offspring" with the submarine bouncy castle. Together with the "blue light faction" (THW, federal and water police as well as the fire brigade), this will be an eventful Hanse Sail.
As a special service, the navy offers free shuttle bus rides between the Hohe Düne ferry terminal, the campsite in Markgrafenheide and the Warnemünde naval base.
Dates: Open base 10 am - 6 pm, Sunday 10 am - 4 pm, Sunday 13 August 2023 - Open Ship Sailing Training Ship "Gorch Fock": 1 pm - 5 pm
