For more than 10 years, the Perspectives on the Defence Industry Symposium has been the DWT and SGW kick-off event for the respective event year. It has proved to be extremely successful in this function. Statements by the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg) and senior representatives of the security and defence industry at the beginning of the year always provide important points of reference for the further development of defence policy, but above all for the equipment of the Bundeswehr in the current year. This applies in particular to Symposium 2022, which is now taking place a few months after the coalition government was formed. Symposium 2022 offers the opportunity to obtain first-hand information on defence policy and the Bundeswehr's future course of action from the new leadership of the Federal Ministry of Defence. The coalition agreement shows a high degree of fundamental continuity in its statement, but of course leaves room for change.
Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht's announcement that all foreign deployments will be reviewed shows that not everything will remain the same. Planning for the one-day symposium in 2022 is progressing well, as the programme shows. However, it has not yet been finalised, as there are still some open requests - mainly due to the Christmas break. The programme is constantly updated on the homepage.
