50 years of the German Maritime Institute, 175 years of the German Navy and the Maritime Convention - there have been many occasions recently to focus on the navy, maritime security and maritime interdependencies. The Maritime Convention offers the ideal platform for this, promotes dialogue and creates opportunities to convey the DMI's messages to the outside world. Of course, Christian Bock, Chairman of the German Maritime Institute, will also be there. In an interview with marineforum, the flotilla admiral explained how important a holistic view of security, defence and maritime dependencies is - and what role the German Maritime Institute plays in this. "Maritime dependencies should not be viewed singularly from the perspective of maritime security in the sense of defence, but rather from an overall political approach," Bock is certain. And this also applies to the future, as the work of the German Maritime Institute is still highly topical even after 50 years. Why is it so important to stay on the ball and explain maritime dependencies? Watch the whole video now!
