Corvette "Ludwigshafen am Rhein" back from UN deployment in time for Christmas

On Friday, 20 December 2024 at 10 a.m., the corvette "Ludwigshafen am Rhein" will arrive at her home base in Warnemünde.

Almost 200 days ago, on 8 June 2024, the crew under the command of frigate captain Christian Rodust set sail to take part in the mandated foreign mission UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) off the Lebanese coast. "I am proud of my crew and happy to return safely to our home port today with the 'Ludwigshafen am Rhein' after a demanding and dangerous deployment off the Lebanese coast," the commander proudly explains. The corvette has had a challenging year in 2024. The "Ludwigshafen am Rhein" and its crew spent 196 days on the UNIFIL mission and almost 270 days away from their home port. The crew will be on Christmas leave after their return to Rostock. The arrival of the corvette will be accompanied by music from the Neubrandenburg Army Music Corps.
