For years, there has been a tendency for maritime topics to be of increasing interest. This is entirely in keeping with the German Maritime Institute (DMI) which has set itself the task of spreading the maritime idea inland and in people's minds. The Maritime Conference, which takes place at the Schleswig-Holstein State Representation in the Ministerial Gardens in Berlin, regularly welcomes high-ranking personalities from politics, the German Armed Forces, industry and science. The President of the DMI, Rear Admiral (ret.) Karsten Schneider and griephan with its editor Heinz Schulte, founding member and Spiritus Rector at the same time, will once again present an impressive list of speakers.

This time, the organisers are expecting Dr Emily Holland, International Security Fellow at the Hertie School Berlin; Lieutenant General Wolfgang Wien, German Military Representative to the Military Committee of NATO and the EU; Dr Nicole Biebow, Head of the International Cooperation Unit, Alfred Wegener Institute; Fredrik Preiholt, Senior Intelligence & Operations Advisor, Norwegian Shipowners' Mutual War Risks Insurance Association; Dr Igor Kabanenko, Admiral (ret.), former Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine; Dr Adrian Neumann, , north.io and Sandra Jung, Director Maritime, Helsing
