On Thursday, 22 September 2022 at 11 a.m., Captain Oliver Jülke (58) handed over command of the Naval Technology School (MTS) Parow to Captain Sven Janssen (51).
Captain Jülke was responsible for the MTS for four and a half years or 1,494 days. He also represented the MTS in public life in the region in and around Stralsund. During his time in office, the school was able to show how diverse training in the Bundeswehr can be on Armed Forces Day. "It was one of the most outstanding assignments of my time. I really, really enjoyed working with the soldiers and staff as well as the communities and the town of Stralsund. I will definitely hand over the office with a tear in my eye," said the outgoing school commander. Captain Jülke is looking forward to working close to home in Wilhelmshaven at the Naval Support Command (MUKdo) as Deputy Head of Department. The new commander, Kapitän zur See Sven Janssen, was commander of U25 and served for several years at NATO headquarters in Mons and Brussels (Belgium). He is also no "unknown quantity" at the school. He has already held a position as commander of Training Group B. In recent years, Janssen has been Head of Operations at the Centre for Cyber Operations. "I am delighted not only to be able to return to the navy, but also to be transferred to one of the most beautiful places in the navy and to be able to carry out one of the most demanding tasks in the armed forces: commanding officer of the alma mater of all navy technicians and site manager for a wonderful region."
