According to Russian sources, the first series-produced nuclear submarine of Project 885 M (Jasen-M) with the name Novosibirsk of the Russian naval fleet at the end of 2021. By then, the Novosibirskhave completed the shipyard trials and undergone the navy trials. In the course of these trials, launches of the Oniks and Kalibr-PL missiles are planned.
The shipyard is reportedly also planning to launch the Project 885 M type submarine, the Kazanto be handed over. There are six more submarines of this project under construction.
The seventh and eighth hulls of Project 885M, the nuclear submarines Voronezh and Vladivostokwere laid down on 20 July 2020. President Vladimir Putin was also present at the ceremony via video link.
The type and so far only underwater cruiser of project 885 JasenThe Severodvinsk is currently assigned to the Northern Fleet. It was built at Sevmash and handed over to the naval fleet on 17 June 2014. The main armament of the Project 885/885M submarines are Kalibr-PL and Oniks missiles. At present, the Severodvinsk for trials of the Tsirkon hypersonic missile, which are scheduled to begin this year.
