Another grain of gold for the state's arsenal of weapons at the most intensive interface of international maritime traffic: at the end of January, the US State Department approved the Foreign Military Sale (FMS) of four Boeing P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft including armament (MK 54 lightweight torpedo) to Singapore worth EUR 2 billion - the US Congress still has to give its approval.
Footnote in passing: A month earlier, the State Department had approved an FMS worth 1.5 billion euros for three P-8A Poseidons to Denmark. However, this was „loudly“ kept quiet during all the noise about Greenland.
