Registration for the 3rd charity run is now open

Registration for the third charity run organised by the Bundeswehr and Reservists running team has been open since 6 June.

Following the success of the last two charity runs in 2020 and 2021 - the Bundeswehr and Reservists running team collected a total of over EUR 21,000 in the second charity run last year alone - the registration phase for the running team's third charity run has now begun.

The charity run, which will take place virtually again from 10/09/2022 - 25/09/2022, will not only offer running distances of 1 km children's run, 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, half marathon and marathon this year, but for the first time also the opportunity to make a contribution to a good cause by bike. Possible distances are 1 km children's run as well as 5, 10, 15, 21 and 42 km. Furthermore, unlimited walking is also offered.

This year, one third of the donations will go to the Volksbund Deutscher Kriegsgräberführsorge e.V. (German War Graves Commission), one third to the aid organisations of the technical relief organisation in Euskirchen, Ahrweiler and Schleiden affected by the Ahr valley floods and one third to the German Hardship Foundation.

"With this division, the running team would also like to consciously consider civilian organisations, as we have civilian runners alongside many soldiers and are very aware of our bridging function," says Lieutenant Colonel Oliver Muhs, one of the founders of the running team.

The patron of the third charity run was the Deputy Inspector General, Lieutenant General Markus Laubenthal, together with the State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Defence, Siemtje Möller.
