Reconciling family and career at BAAINBw

The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support receives certification

The BAAINBw was awarded the "audit berufundfamilie" certificate for the first time for its family and life-phase-conscious HR policy. The compatibility of family and career is now an integral part of modern personnel management. Family-, child- and carer-friendly conditions create a family-friendly working environment that meets the expectations of an employer. This also applies to the higher civilian authorities within the remit of the Federal Ministry of Defence.

The BAAINBw has been undergoing the extensive auditing process of berufundfamilie Service GmbH since the end of last year. Firstly, the status quo of the family-friendly measures on offer was determined. In addition to setting up parent-child workrooms and in-house childcare facilities at the Koblenz/Lahnstein site, the BAAINBw also offers its employees the opportunity to work from any location. In the further certification process, additional measures were defined, which were set out in a target agreement as the basis for further development. The certificate is valid for three years.
