Just a few days after the official commissioning of the strategic nuclear submarine "Kniaz Posharsky" by President Vladimir Putin in Severodvinsk at the end of July, a message from Kiev has raised eyebrows: Access to the submarine's data network had been hacked and sensitive data and information had been intercepted. The Borey-class boats (project 955A, 170 metres, 20,000 tonnes) with their 16 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles (SS-N-32 Mace) and their very low detection capability represent the Russian Federation's assured nuclear second-strike capability. Even if the Ukrainian report cannot be verified, it is one of the pinpricks that the attacked country is inflicting on the Russian bear.
