Lemwerder, 23 September 2024: The NVL Group will comprehensively modernise its site in Lemwerder, Lower Saxony, by the end of 2025. With the construction of a new building complex and the refurbishment of the old building, more than 400 state-of-the-art workplaces will be created on the new NVL Campus, thus making further significant investments in the infrastructure, the employees and the future of the site. With the ground-breaking ceremony in the presence of Lemwerder's mayor Christina Winkelmann, district administrator Stephan Siefken, shareholder Friedrich Lürßen and numerous NVL employees, the responsible construction company GOLDBECK Bremen branch took over the work on the construction site.
"Today's ground-breaking ceremony not only marks the symbolic start of a new construction project, but also sends a clear signal for the future of our company," said Tim Wagner, CEO of NVL. "It is a very important step forward for us. A modern office building that is not only efficient and functional, but also sustainable. Above all, as a reliable employer in the region, we are creating a space that does justice to the continuous growth of new crew members and enables a collaborative and creative working atmosphere thanks to the shared desk concept and open-plan community areas."
The NVL design, purchasing and quality management departments, among others, will work in the new building complex. The management and headquarters of NVL will remain unchanged at the Bremen-Vegesack site.
Bremen-based architecture firm Gruppe GME has developed a design that divides the overall building volume into three structures with hybrid workspaces, meeting rooms and project rooms and aims to create a symbiosis of landscape and architecture. Accordingly, the buildings, which are connected from the first floor upwards, are generously spaced apart and terraced towards the Weser. This means that almost all workplaces have a view of the Weser. The new building will be combined with the former school building, in which a canteen and conference centre will be integrated, to form an office campus, the new NVL Campus. Completion of the redesigned company premises is planned for the end of 2025.
"I am delighted that the NVL has decided to expand its site on our side of the Weser here in Lemwerder. It is a strong and very valuable commitment for our community and the entire district of Wesermarsch. Jobs will be secured and new ones created. And in an extremely attractive and sustainable way," said Christina Winkelmann, Mayor of Lemwerder.
