With the SeaSnake, Rheinmetall is launching a significantly improved weapon station onto the market. It is being installed on the 126 frigates for the German Navy for the first time.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. local time on 12 October 2000, the USS Cole began a routine refuelling operation in the port of Aden, Yemen. A few minutes later, a small boat carrying explosives and two people approached the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer on its port side and blew a hole of over 200 square metres in the side wall.
