Rear Admiral Jan Christian Kaack is acting inspector of the German Navy
His order of the day on Monday refers to the Compass Marine guide, a work compiled over the past four years on the self-image of members of the armed forces:
"We serve Germany. Our state, our fatherland, the people in our country, and people beyond our country. Faithfully and bravely. Worldwide. Every day.
We are the instrument and arm of our state. Our uniform symbolises this. We are aware that our appearance and actions express the state's self-image and political will.
We express our state through who we are and how we act. Our mission fulfilment and our success are therefore also dependent on the commitment, expertise and professionalism of each individual."
In conclusion, Kaack calls for: "Let us all - each in our own place - continue to fulfil our tasks with prudence, professionalism, drive and confidence."

Perhaps the acting inspector will become the new inspector of the navy. I would wish it for him!
