Since it was founded 30 years ago, the Rostock-based company Tamsen Maritim has developed into a recognised and renowned German shipyard.
The founding of Tamsen Maritim marked the start of another chapter in the history of Rostock as a shipbuilding centre steeped in tradition, thus forming the basis for the successful development of today's shipyard. In 1994, Abeking & Rasmussen founded A & R Neptun Boat Service in Lemwerder together with Meyer Werft in Papenburg. The shipyard on the site of the former Neptun naval shipyard in Rostock-Gehlsdorf on the Warnow river initially focussed on shipbuilding.
