TKMS and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strategically expand their existing collaboration. The aim is to pool expertise and drive forward joint research and development activities. The focus is on the protection of critical maritime infrastructures, quantum technology, ship technologies as well as simulation and systems engineering. A central project is the establishment of a continuous network from space to the seabed to close monitoring gaps and provide a real-time situational awareness. In addition, autonomous underwater systems such as the SeaCat drone will be used to provide high-resolution underwater images and secure resilient maritime infrastructures.
