TKMS and ELBIT build submarine components in Israel

TKMS and Elbit Systems, the Israeli Ministry of Defence, are opening a new production facility for submarine components in Israel. The facility will be used to manufacture underwater GRP components for the construction of submarines.

As TKMS announced in a press release, this is the first time that submarine components are to be manufactured in Israel. The plant is part of TKMS' industrial co-operation activities under the offset agreements in Israel. The entire initiative is being carried out in the context of an industrial agreement between the companies, which will see the establishment of new production facilities and the development of advanced technologies based on TKMS' knowledge and experience. The cooperation strengthens Northern Israel as a strategic industrial and technology centre. The plant's activities are a regional growth engine, combining advanced industry, innovation and defence production under one roof. The plant, located in an area of national importance, is expected to employ dozens of workers in the initial phase and will contribute to strengthening the Israeli economy, creating quality jobs in northern Israel and deepening the regional industrial fabric.
