Since the RGM/UGM-109B was taken out of service in 1994, all TomahawkUS Navy cruise missiles on the aimed at combating land targets. Now the Tomahawk Block Va is to replace these Close the capability gap.

Since the introduction of the Tomahawk cruise missile in 1983, different variants of the weapon system have been developed. The latest configuration bears the designation RGM/UGM-109M Tomahawk Block V. The Block V version is produced partly by retrofitting the predecessor Block IV, and partly by building completely new units.
