Boeing has received an order to build three more Poseidons. This brings the future fleet of new maritime patrol aircraft for the German Navy to eight units.
The German Navy is replacing its P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft with P-8A Poseidon aircraft. As the manufacturer Boeing announced on 29 February, the US Navy has now ordered three more aircraft for delivery to the Bundeswehr as part of the Foreign Military Sales programme.
