University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich cooperates with IABG

As the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich announced in a press release, it will co-operate with the Industrieanlagen-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH (IABG).

The reason for this is that the war in the Middle East shows how unstable the global security situation is and how much Germany and Europe are also affected by it. Science and industry must also react to this and work more closely together in order to secure Germany's and Europe's ability to act in the long term.

On 3 March, the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich and IABG set an example and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for closer cooperation. President Prof Eva-Maria Kern signed the document on behalf of the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich. Managing Director Prof Rudolf F. Schwarz signed on behalf of IABG.

The thematic focus of the collaboration will primarily be on particularly relevant future fields - in technically demanding disciplines such as information and communication technologies, aerospace and systems engineering. In the next step, concrete project plans will be drawn up for more in-depth interdisciplinary collaboration in research and development. The structured exchange of knowledge and resources between university and industry will open up new solutions for national and international challenges.

A workshop held on the same day at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich with experts from the university and IABG marked the start of a lively collaboration.
