Berlin: new national security and defence industry strategy

At the beginning of December 2024, the German government launched the "National Security and Defence Industry Strategy", which had been planned for some time. The cabinet decision replaces the previous strategy paper from 2020 and responds to the changed security policy circumstances, particularly as a result of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
The National Security and Defence Strategy aims to create the political and economic conditions for industry to provide the goods and services needed and required to protect civil security and defence.
