Task force provider "Bonn" becomes part of the NATO task force

On Monday, 15 January 2024 at 10 a.m., the task force provider "Bonn" departs from Wilhelmshaven on a NATO mission.

At the beginning of the new year, the task force provider "Bonn" will become part of the NATO Very High Readiness Joint Task Force Maritime (VJTF M). This means being deployed on the so-called northern flank. After a long time, the "Bonn" is once again firmly integrated into an international organisation. For many crew members, this will be the first time that they will be travelling in a permanent unit for an extended period of time. The "Bonn" will leave its home port of Wilhelmshaven with a crew of around 175 soldiers and will then join the NATO organisation. The port visits to the NATO partners in the Baltic and North Sea are of course always the highlight for the crew, but as this voyage offers little scope for tourism under the current conditions, the German Navy is holding back on announcements. The supply ship is expected back in its home port in April of this year. The "Bonn" was last deployed in the Aegean and returned after around 80 days in July 2023.
