Carsten Breuer becomes new Inspector General

Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius is parting ways with Inspector General Eberhard Zorn. General Zorn has been Inspector General of the Bundeswehr since 2018 and has worked with Federal Ministers von der Leyen, Kramp-Karrenbauer and Lambrecht during his time. Now he has to go.

Lieutenant General Carsten Breuer becomes the new Inspector General. Lieutenant General Breuer became known to the general public as the "Corona crisis manager".

According to reports from ministry circles, the handover is to take place this week.
