HAL delivers first Mk-III to Indian Coast Guard

In the presence of Defence Minister Ajay Kumar, the Indian Coast Guard took delivery of the first three ALH Mk-III helicopters from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). A total of 16 of the twin-engine machines with modern avionics and electronics were ordered. The Mk-III is an Indian in-house development with which the country is endeavouring to become more independent of foreign countries in the technology sector. Fincantieri celebrates success in Indonesia

The Italian group Fincantieri has been awarded a contract in Indonesia for the delivery of six Fremm frigates, the modernisation and sale of two Maestrale-class frigates and the logistical support associated with both programmes. The modernisation of the two Maestrale-class vessels, which Fincantieri will take over from the Italian Navy after their decommissioning, is to be carried out in Italy. Trip to the Black Sea

The British destroyer Defender has ended its participation in the NATO operation Sea Guardian and, together with the Dutch frigate Evertsen, has called at Istanbul for a short port call. Both ships are part of the UK Carrier Strike Group 21 around the Queen Elizabeth. The Defender will now head for the Black Sea for a detour. Modern training helicopters for the Navy

Leonardo handed over the first TH-73A training helicopter to the US Navy today at the company's premises in Philadelphia. The ceremony was attended by Vice Admiral Kenneth Whitesell, Commander Naval Air Forces and Commander Naval Air Force US Pacific Fleet, among others. The Navy plans to procure a total of 130 of these light helicopters by 2024. An initial contract for the delivery of 32 aircraft worth 177 million dollars was signed in January 2020.
