Atlas Elektronik, designer and manufacturer of sonar systems for submarines, minesweepers and combat vessels, as well as torpedoes and autonomous systems, has been selected by Lockheed Martin Australia (LMA) to design the bow sonar base for the future Attack-class submarines. Lockheed Martin Australia is the Australian Government's 2018 prime contractor for the development, design and integration of the Combat Management Systems (CMS). Australian media reports that Lockheed Martin Australia selected Atlas Elektronik's Bugsonar base as part of a selection process. Fincantieri builds two more submarines for Italy

On 26 February, the Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri signed a contract with Occar to build two submarines for the Italian Navy. These are units of the U 212 NFS (Near Future Submarine) class that have yet to be developed.
