Dynamic Manta - NATO sea manoeuvres off Sicily

One thing at a time. After - as reported - Russian units conducted submarine hunting manoeuvres in the eastern Mediterranean from 15 to 25 February, NATO forces have now come together off Italy for one of NATO's two major annual submarine hunting exercises. "Dynamic Manta" (DYMA22) runs from 21 February for a fortnight until well into March and is based at the ports of Catania, Augusta and Syracuse on the eastern side of Sicily, as well as at Sigonella airport (Navy) near Catania and Trapani airport (Air Force) in the west of the island. Multinational participants France, Italy and Greece provide the submarines in both roles (hunter/hunted)....

With 4,000 cars, mainly from the VW Group, as cargo with a value of around 400 million euros (i.e. almost half a billion euros!), insurers are now calling for decisive investment in the mandatory installation of automatic extinguishing systems based on high-pressure water mist on board ships of this size - less damage to the cargo, no impairment of the stability of the transport platform! Departure order for fleet service boat

On Saturday, 26 February 2022 at 12 noon, the fleet service boat "Alster" will set sail for the Baltic Sea to be the eyes and ears not only for the navy, but for the entire Bundeswehr. The Oste-class fleet service boat is a reconnaissance vessel that specialises in monitoring sea and coastal areas.
