The exercise in the Gulf of Guinea from Senegal to Angola involves 19 local nations and ten international partners. The exercise began on 2 November and was completed on 7 November. First-ever joint exercise of unmanned and manned surface ships by NAVCENT As Defence News reports, the US Fifth Fleet has conducted an exercise called New Horizon, in which a MANTAS T-12 drone integrated into Task Force 59 operated with manned US patrol boats and Bahrain Defense Force units for the first time. And here's a short message to go with a nice photo: The British Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group 21 (CSG 21) is now in the Middle East to conduct exercises with friendly Gulf neighbours. The F-35s are to work together with the air forces of Oman and the United Arab Emirates in the Persian Gulf. The HMS Queen Elisabeth encountered the Shabab Oman II, the sail training ship of the Oman Navy. The sailing vessel has been part of the permanent training programme for Omani cadets since 2014, was built in Romania and fitted out in the Netherlands (Damen Shipyards). She is 87 metres long, 11 metres wide and has a sail area of 2,700 square metres.

Warship has coastguard team on board for police duties. Conceivable in Germany too? According to the Navy Times, the USS Sioux City seized more than 20 million dollars worth of cocaine last month. The Coast Guard team on board was able to seize around 1,110 pounds of the drug from a smuggling speedboat in the Caribbean on 19 September. The Sioux City and a Dominican Republic vessel spotted a "very fast boat" that day, whereupon the LCS (Littoral Combat Ship) Sioux City deployed a speedboat and chased after the smugglers. The smugglers were quickly brought under control.
