Shark hunting in the North Atlantic

The Shark Hunt 21 manoeuvre has been underway in the North Atlantic since 23 July. Together with partners from Canada and the United Kingdom, the US armed forces are practising searching for and combating submarines. Under the leadership of Captain John D. Craddock, Commodore CTF 69, the crews of four surface ships, three submarines and seven aircraft are expanding their capabilities in the complex field of submarine hunting. Seven new dwarves

In June, the French Directorate General for Defence (DGA) ordered seven more new ten-tonne class bow tugs for the French Navy. According to the Ministry of Defence in Paris, the order is worth more than eight million euros. Russian submarine awaits launch

The Russian Ministry of Defence reports that the Krasnoyarsk submarine will be launched on 30 July. Mitsubishi launches MRRV

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding is also celebrating: the first of two new vessels for the Philippine Coast Guard was launched today (26 July) with colourful balloons and ribbons at the shipyard in Shimonoseki, southern Japan. The Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRV) will be used for SAR missions, including in heavy weather and for patrols in offshore and coastal areas. Operations against smugglers will be at the centre of activities. The MRRVs, which are almost 97 metres long and displace 2,260 tonnes, can travel at a maximum speed of 24 knots. Launching of the fourth corvette for Saudi Arabia
