The fourth corvette for Saudi Arabia was launched at Navantia in San Fernando in southern Spain last Saturday (24 July). In the presence of the Inspector of the Spanish Navy, Admiral Antonio Martorell Lacave, the Commander of the Saudi Navy, Vice Admiral Fahad Bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaily, smashed a bottle of water from Mecca on the bow of the new ship. This was followed by the actual launching ceremony, during which the corvette slid stern-first into her new element. On 23 July, the Dutch shipyard Damen and Engie Axima Germany announced their cooperation in the construction of the Class 126 frigates (formerly MKS 180). Engie Axima, formerly Noske-Kaeser, will thus supply the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems as well as the protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazards (CBRN) and the refrigeration systems of the future frigates. The latest helicopter destined for the Polish Navy took off from the ground for the first time a few days ago. Built by Leonardo in Yeovil, UK, the AW101 with the registration ZR285 is the first of a total of four aircraft that the Polish armed forces will receive. In the course of her long life, she had many functions: Excursion steamer and cattle transporter, naval tender and refugee ship - the Albatros.
