Netherlands - Fire on board a frigate

In the late morning of 29 August 2024, a fire broke out on one of the diesel generators on board the frigate HNLMS "Evertsen" (144 metres, 6000 tonnes) for reasons as yet unknown. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. A spokesperson for the navy told marineschepen.nl on 30 August 2024 that there was only damage to the insulation of the exhaust pipe and that the diesel itself was undamaged. Major construction site in the Baltic Sea - offshore expansion

The German electricity transmission system operator 50Hertz plans to invest several billion euros in the expansion of the offshore electricity grid in the German Baltic Sea by 2028. The newly planned wind farms are expected to more than double the capacity there to three gigawatts by 2028. Fishtown Guard 2024

Bundeswehr exercises in the city of Bremerhaven As part of the Fishtown Guard 2024 exercise, the Bremen Homeland Security Company, under the leadership of Bremen State Command, will conduct an exercise in the city of Bremerhaven.
