Der Schlepper soll unter dem Namen "Borkum" fahren und wurde aufgrund seines geringen Alters von nur zwei Jahren ausgewählt. Die Kaufsumme liegt nach Angaben aus Koblenz im niedrigen zweistelligen Millionen-Euro-Bereich. Die Beschaffung wurde innerhalb von fünf Monaten realisiert. Derzeit fährt der Schlepper „Britoil Guardian“ unter der Flagge Singapurs mit der IMO Nummer 9797280.
