Federal Public Prosecutor General has begun investigations
The German Federal Public Prosecutor General has opened an investigation into alleged "anti-constitutional sabotage" following reports of leaks from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, which are widely attributed to Russia. The spokesperson for the public prosecutor's office announced on Monday that an investigation had been launched against persons unknown. The Federal Public Prosecutor General only gets involved in special cases. In this case, it is a matter that is "likely to jeopardise Germany's internal and external security" and represents a "serious attack on the energy supply", the spokesperson continued.
