Hensoldt modernises radar systems on the K 130
The German sensor company Hensoldt will modernise the radar systems of initially two corvettes of the first batch of class 130 as well as a shore-based system. The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has placed a corresponding order as part of a programme to eliminate the obsolescence of the corvettes. The deliveries are scheduled to take place in the course of this year. The ships, which have been in service since 2008, are equipped with the TRS-3D three-dimensional multifunction radar for air and sea surveillance.
