Change of commander in the Trossgeschwader

Today, the commander of Operational Flotilla 2, Flotilla Admiral Axel Schulz, handed over command of the Trossgeschwader from Frigate Captain Thorsten Geldmacher to the squadron's new commander, Captain Andreas Schmekel. The handover ceremony took place on the task force supply ship "Berlin" at the Heppenser Groden naval base in Wilhelmshaven. thyssenkrupp CEO expresses disappointment. Oliver Burkhard, member of the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp AG and CEO of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, announced with regret on 22 October that Carlyle will not pursue the valuation process for a possible partial sale of the marine division.
