Presentation of the combat medal to the crew of the frigate "Hessen"

Am Montag, den 2. September um 08:50 Uhr, fand die feierliche Zeremonie zur Verleihung der Gefechtsmedaille an die Besatzung der Fregatte "Hessen" statt. Neben ihr wurde zusätzlich die nationale sowie die EU-Medaille verliehen. Die Fregatte und ihre Besatzungsangehörigen sind das erste geschlossene Kontingent der Bundeswehr, das mit dieser Einsatzmedaille ausgezeichnet wird. Hamburg: Japanese training association visits

While the German Indo-Pacific unit consisting of the frigate "Baden-Württemberg" and the task force provider "Frankfurt am Main" are visiting Tokyo, a Japanese training unit consisting of the training ship "Kashima" (143 metres, 5,500 tonnes, commissioned in 1995) and the guided missile destroyer "Shimakaze" (130 metres, 4,300 tonnes, commissioned in 1988) moored at the Überseebrücke in the port of Hamburg on Thursday. Rhön back!

The fuel transporter "Rhön" is expected to return to its home port of Wilhelmshaven on Saturday, 31 August 2024. The ship has been participating in the Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG 1) as the German contribution to the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force Maritime (VJTF M) since 1 April 2024. The operational area was the North Sea, Baltic Sea and North Atlantic. The "Rhön", as a floating refuelling station, ensured the supply of fuel for the participating NATO partners.
