Philippines: Two FAIC-M Shaldag combat boats put into service

Thailand: Corvette sunk in bad weather

As at 21 December 2022 On the night of 18 December, around 20 miles off the Thai coast, the 35-year-old 1,000-tonne corvette "Sukhothai" initially sank due to water ingress into the power supply, followed by a total failure of the on-board systems. It was in the sea area to assist local fishing vessels in the weather conditions. Rescue operation Of the two frigates, one landing ship and two helicopters sent to assist, only the frigate "Kraburi" was able to reach the stricken vessel before it sank. Japan: Third "Mogami" class frigate enters service

The frigate newbuildings of the "Mogami" class are Japan's latest addition to the surface units of the self-defence forces of the Far Eastern island state.
