The next major maritime exercise this year will be Sea Breeze 2021 from 28 June to 10 July. As in previous years, the manoeuvre will be jointly led by the Ukrainian and American navies. After many nations cancelled their participation last year due to the coronavirus, units from a record number of countries are expected to take part this time. In addition to the traditional participants from the major NATO countries, there will also be exotic participants from all over the world, including Brazil, Japan and South Korea. A total of 5,000 soldiers from 32 nations will be practising various deployment scenarios together with 32 ships, 40 aircraft and 18 special forces and diving teams. Christening and launching are two important events in the life of a ship. The latest Japanese frigate Noshiro experienced both together on 22 June. After the type ship and the Kumano, it will be the third ship in the Mogami class. It is named after the river Noshiro in the north of the Japanese main island of Honshu. This frigate was built by MHI in Nagasaki, while other units in the class were built by Mitsui in Tamano. With a length of 130 metres, the ships displace around 3900 tonnes. They will be equipped with a 127-millimetre gun and a Mk41 VLS launcher with 16 cells. In addition, eight Type 17 FKs are available for engaging sea targets.

After travelling halfway around the globe, the new supply vessel NUSHIP Stalwart has arrived in its new home in Australia for the first time. At the end of May, the Stalwart left Ferrol in Spain, where it had been built at the Navantia shipyard. The future Royal Australian Navy ship will be stationed on the country's west coast in Perth.
