Estonia protects submarine cable
Estonia has also directly deployed a naval vessel to monitor the underwater infrastructure in the Baltic Sea after Finland detained the oil tanker "Eagle S", which is part of the Russian shadow fleet. The tanker is suspected of having damaged the Estlink 2 power cable with its anchor on 25 December 2024. This is the third incident of this kind within a year.
