Manoeuvres in the Baltic Sea - NATO with a large presence

Major maritime manoeuvre BALTOPS starts for the first time in Rostock Baltic Operations, or BALTOPS for short, has been around for decades. It is NATO's most important US-led naval manoeuvre in the Baltic Sea. The multinational exercise usually lasts two weeks and ends in Kiel at the start of Kiel Week. Having gone unnoticed for years, BALTOPS has gained new attention in view of the security tensions in the Baltic Sea region. Setting the strategic course: Announcement of contract for German participation in the US AN/SPY-6 radar

According to an announcement by the US Department of Defense on 30 May 2025, Raytheon Missiles and Defense was awarded a contract (N00024-25-C-5501) for an initial USD 536.75 million for integration and production support services for the AN/SPY-6(V) multifunction long-range radar.
