Canal with water shortage

As early as 1827, Goethe dreamed of building a waterway from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean through the isthmus between North and South America.

The greater Indo-Pacific region encompasses all sea areas between the east coast of Africa and the west coast of America, and there are two usual routes for the two units of the German Navy's Indo-Pacific Deployment 2024. The long route via South America around the infamous Cape Horn through the Strait of Magellan or the short route through the Panama Canal.
