Egypt: Christening of the fourth submarine for the Egyptian Navy

At the end of September, the christening of the S 44, the fourth submarine of the 209/144mod type for the Egyptian Navy. Their commander-in-chief attended the ceremony on site at the shipyard, where three Meko A 200 frigates were also ordered in 2019 following approval by the German government. In addition to all the other maritime procurements, including flying and rolling stock mainly from Russia and the USA, Egypt has been one of the busiest defence importers in the world over the past five years.
