After two years of training at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in Hamburg, Corvette Captain Kietzmann now finds herself in command responsibility with immediate effect. She is the first female commander in the German Navy. The naval technology school at Strelasund is not new territory for the staff officer. As Chief of Inspection, she was already responsible for young soldiers taking their first steps in the German Navy. The honourable task of conducting the ceremonial pledge of allegiance in front of the impressive historical backdrop of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund will in future fall to the commanding officer, Lieutenant Commander Kietzmann. Training Group C at the Parow Naval Technical School will carry out the general basic training and further training.
The marineforum wishes the outgoing commander all the best and the commander of Training Group Charlie good luck in her new role.
