Landing craft "Lachs": what was there to do here?

Landing craft in its biotope: Movement of land vehicles of the German Army

At the end of March, the multi-purpose landing craft "Lachs" (L 762) was spotted loading German Army vehicles on the beach at the Jägersberg naval ammunition depot. Anyone who sees the landing craft in Kiel often knows that this landing exercise is a special event. Almost a "back to the future", being fully loaded again. Until now, the last German landing craft was mostly seen as a platform for Kiel Week, training support and special tasks. This is as new as it was once taken for granted.

Why is this worth reporting?

Well, the boat (we reported) is looking forward to its planned decommissioning in the near future. It is the last of its kind and continues to fight against oblivion. Apparently the "last boat fighting", it proves time and again that the Bundeswehr needs something like this.
