Partnership agreed for equipping the boats in the youth and competitive sports sector with engines and spare parts.
The German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV) is the sporting authority for motorised water sports in Germany. Through its membership in the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), as the sole representative of motorised water sports, and in the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) - the world association for motorised water sports, the DMYV is responsible for the sports organisation. Equipping the boats for youth and competitive sport with engines that meet the high standards of UIM conformity on the one hand, and have to withstand the rigours of training and competition on the other, is essential. With its long tradition in motorboat sport, Mercury has proven worldwide over decades that it can guarantee both.
Frank Dettmering, President of the German Motor Yacht Association, emphasises: "With Mercury, we have a partner that supports motorised water sports with high-quality engines and a uniquely broad portfolio - from 6 hp outboards for the youngest in inflatable boats to powerful engines for formula class catamarans and, if necessary, electric drives for competition classes of the future. The UIM conformity of the Mercury engines ensures that DMYV athletes and teams can compete in accordance with the rules in international competitions as well as in national competitions. As the federal association for motorised water sports, the DMYV would like to thank Mercury for this support on behalf of the member clubs, regional associations and, of course, the athletes, and looks forward to working with them."
Will Sangster, President of Mercury Marine EMEA, adds: "This partnership with the DMYV fits perfectly with our commitment to support the next generation of motorised water sports athletes. We pride ourselves on providing reliable, efficient power to help these young athletes perform at their best."
