Rolls-Royce is to develop the automation system mtu Deliver NautIQ Master for the F126 frigates

The ship automation system mtu NautIQ Master and the equipment health management system mtu NautIQ Foresight form the command and control system Automation Schiffstechnik of the Class 126 frigates.

The delivery consists of the ship automation (IPMS) and condition monitoring system (CMS) components. Rolls-Royce is supplying its mtu NautIQ Master and mtu NautIQ Foresight solutions for this purpose. The corresponding contract with the main contractor Damen Naval was signed on 21 January 2022. This contract also includes the fire alarm system, personal detection and CCTV systems.

This "High-Tech Made in Germany" - according to the press release - is unique worldwide. It is the latest version of Rolls-Royce's IPMS, which combines the advantages of the proven mtu and Servowatch products. It offers the same basic functions as the previous version, but with additional functions and on a much more flexible and future-proof platform. mtu NautIQ Foresight is Rolls-Royce's equipment health management system for use in the marine industry.

Damen Naval is building the four Class 126 frigates together with its partners Blohm+Voss and Thales after the partners were selected as bidders in 2020 as a result of a multi-year European tender. The first ship is expected to be delivered to the German Navy in Hamburg in 2028. All construction work will be carried out in Germany, in Hamburg, Kiel and Wolgast
