New Federal Government Coordinator for Maritime Economy and Tourism

Claudia Müller is Norbert Brackmann's successor

The coordinator is based at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, where her predecessor had been in office since 2018. Claudia Müller also comes from the coast. Born in Rostock, she worked as a freelancer in the culture and tourism sector from 2004. She studied international business administration in Stralsund and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017.

Not only has the Ministry of Economic Affairs been renamed the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, but the function of the coordinator has also been given a different name: it is now called "Economy and Tourism". Norbert Brackmann was known not only for successfully representing the interests of the coast and the shipbuilding industry, he also stood for the maritime industry throughout Germany. His network was very large and his contacts - including those at marineforum - diverse.

Claudia Müller has now set her sights even higher with the addition of "Tourism", and the editorial team wishes her a good start.

  1. Congratulations on your new area of responsibility.
So far, however, I have not had the impression that tourism in Germany - even on the coast - needs a coordinator.
We urgently need a coordinator for maritime security.
