The Dutch Ministry of Defence wants to strengthen and protect its own defence industry and is working together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs on a corresponding law consisting of three parts:
+ A sectoral investment test to prevent mergers, acquisitions and investments in suppliers from becoming a risk for the deployment of the armed forces.
+ A declaration of suitability for Dutch companies bidding for contracts abroad: among other things, companies are scrutinised for undesirable interference by other countries in their management structure.
