Norway: Maritime precautions for parts of the Arctic

The Norwegian state-owned company Equinor is planning a comprehensive emergency preparedness programme for the oil and gas fields in the south-western Barents Sea.

On the initiative of the Barents Sea Operation Cooperation, a new collaboration is being established between Vår Energi, the operator of the Goliat oil field (around 85 kilometres northwest of the city of Hammerfest), and Equinor, which also has a stake in the oil field.
