Norway exits Airbus NH90 - and joins AgustaWestland

Another cancelled defence project: At the beginning of November, Norway finally cancelled the procurement contract from 2001 for fourteen NH90s, which had already been terminated in 2022 due to delivery deviations and maintenance problems, by mutual agreement and by resolving all disputes with the French-dominated NH Industries (Airbus Helicopters, Leonardo, Fokker). NHI is taking back the eight NH90s delivered to date, including spare parts, tools and mission equipment, as they can be seamlessly integrated into the equipment chains and ET stocks of other customers. In addition, NHI is paying a total of 375 million euros - and that's it! In the meantime, thirteen AgustaWestland AW101 helicopters (British-Italian) have been ordered and delivered and have been flown - albeit unarmed - since 2020/2023.
